How to return Git Branch widget to the status bar at the bottom of the IDE window

Problem

Previously, the Git branch popup was available at the bottom of the window. In the new UI, this functionality has been moved to the VCS widget in the main toolbar at the top.

Solution

Right-click the status bar context menu and select Git Branch.

Alternatively, in the main menu, go to View | Appearance | Status Bar Widgets | Git Branch.
