Question
I use WSL in my IDE via a terminal. What are the alternatives?
Answer
1. Use EEL mode
Simply open a project from WSL file system in your Windows IDE instance. The EEL mode will be turned on automatically and you will work in WSL from the Windows native IDE windows. 2. Use JetBrains Client to connect to the WSL development environment.
- On the IDE Welcome Screen (close all opened projects to see the Welcome Screen), select "Remote development | WSL"
- Click "New project | Connect to host"
- Select a WSL instance
- Select remote IDE instance and the project directory
(ensure that you have the same version in host as in client. You will be prompted to download the missing version to Linux host)
- Select a project
- Result: you will open WSL IDE instance via JetBrains Client.
