Is it possible to develop WinUI applications in Rider?

Does Rider fully support WinUI? Are there plans to support it fully, and if so, when?

Answer

You can develop for WinUI 3 by either using MAUI (targeting Windows) or creating a WinUI 3 project in Visual Studio. However, there are some limitations. Currently, Hot Reload for XAML is not supported in Rider in these scenarios:

• XAML Hot Reload not working in Windows Session
• Support Hot Reload (aka Edit & Continue) for WPF and UWP projects
• Implement 'Edit and Continue' for XAML
• Support UWP packaging projects
