Problem
-
Xamarin application is not working with the error:
Xamarin.Shared.targets(1931, 3): Could not find a valid Xcode app bundle at '/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools'. Please verify that 'xcode-select -p' points to your Xcode installation. For more information seehttps://aka.ms/macios-missing-xcode. -
.NET 9 and Xcode 16 are used
Cause [Optional]
Misconfiguration of the Xamarin and Rider tooling.
Resolution
One (or all) of the solutions below may help, however, it depends on each individually:
- Xamarain SDK installation is missing (which supports .NET 9 and Xcode 16);
- XCode.app must be used instead of Path for Commandline Tools in Settings | Build, Execution, Deployment | Apple Platforms;
- Workloads reinstall (might help after the SDK renew);
- Switch to the Nightly Build of Rider.
