Project debugging error: Could not find a part of the path

Problem

One might encounter an error upon the debugging a project in a browser:

Could not find a part of the path '/Users/johndoe/Library/Application Support/JetBrains/Rider2024.2/chrome-user-data/DevToolsActivePort'., reason: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path '/Users/johndoe/Library/Application Support/JetBrains/Rider2024.2/chrome-user-data/DevToolsActivePort'.

Resolution

Turn on the Use custom user data directory option in Settings | Tools | Web Browsers and Preview → select Chrome (or other Chromium-based browser) → Edit (✎) → toggle Use custom user data directory
