Question
Why is dotPeek loading many assemblies while using the 'Explore Folder' feature?
Answer
The 'Explore Folder' feature scans the specified folder recursively, including subfolders and adds all found assemblies to Assembly Explorer.
Example
For example, to browse Visual Studio assemblies for VS API, choose the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0" folder and have all VS assemblies that it contains loaded in dotPeek.
Note: Adding and scanning folders can take a long time if a large number of assemblies is located in a specified folder. For example, exploring 'C:' root folder allows scanning all folders on the logical disk and adding them to the Assembly Explorer.
