Problem
When deploying JetBrains Rider in a managed environment using silent installation, administrators may encounter the following challenges:
- The Data Sharing consent popup appears on the first launch for each user.
- Users are able to update to newer versions of Rider as soon as they are released
Resolution
The silent installation process primarily focuses on the core installation of the IDE itself, including specifying the installation path and installation mode (per-user or per-machine). It does not provide granular options to pre-configure user-specific settings such as initial popups or update preferences.
Directly suppressing the Data Sharing popup on the first launch or blocking IDE updates is currently not supported.
