The program has a Chinese output, even though everything set up to UTF-8

Problem

The console output of the developed program renders characters in an unexpected encoding (Chinese), while the intended character encoding is (Danish) UTF-8.

Cause

The encoding setting for the .NET console output was set to UTF-16.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Open JetBrains Rider;
2. Navigate to File | Settings | Build, Execution, Deployment | .NET Console;
3. Locate the encoding setting and change it to UTF-8.
