Cannot Use Existing Local Interpreter for MayaPy

Problem

When attempting to create a new project in PyCharm and selecting an existing interpreter with MayaPy, the IDE does not accept the interpreter's path and displays an error dialog.

Cause

According to Maya documentation, the Python virtual environment cannot be called directly from mayapy.

Resolution
