What is the latest PyCharm version that supports Iron Python?

Answer

Support for Iron Python has been officially removed in the most recent releases of PyCharm - Remove IronPython support . Starting from version 2025.1 and on it's not possible to select as an existing interpreter.

Workaround

To continue using Iron Python 2.7 as an interpreter, install an separate instance of PyCharm that still supports it to work on the project. The last PyCharm version that supports Iron Python is 2024.3.6.

1. Use the JetBrains Toolbox App to install and manage different IDE versions.
2. Alternatively, download the standalone installer for older PyCharm versions.
